Wedding makeup

Wedding preparation on the way, you’ve got the dress, you know what kind of a hair-do you want, but now you have to think about your face and makeup. You certainly don’t want stress or wedding preparation tiredness showing on it. Good makeup can do a lot, but it can’t hide everything either. There are a few things you can do to make your skin look beautiful and prepare it for your big day. Below are some wedding makeup and facial dos and don’ts to help you get ready.

Do prepare your skin

Being well-rested and having a healthy skin will make your face look fresh and beautiful. Start taking care of your skin months before the wedding. Use sunscreen and visit a salon regularly. Use a good moisturizer and don’t forget about your lips while at it. Get facials done and go for a face and neckline massage as well to keep your skin looking young and vibrant!

Don’t do anything radical

Don’t try out procedures you haven’t tried before on your skin days before the wedding. It’s important to take care of your skin, but going for a chemical peeling days before your wedding could result in a disaster. This applies to permanent make-up as well. If you’re unsure of what exactly the result will look like, then you probably shouldn’t do it a day before the wedding.

Do get enough rest

Admittedly easier said than done. Especially in the hectic days of wedding preparation. But try to stay away from coffee and other stimulants hours before bedtime.

Eat well. Stay hydrated. Close window blinds when going to bed. Remove electronic devices from your bedroom. All this will help you get a good night’s sleep. And it will show on your face by reducing puffiness and making you look fabulous!

Don’t blindly follow trends

Just because a way of blushing or eyebrow shading is trending at the moment, you don’t necessarily have to oblige by it on your wedding day. Keep in mind which colors suit your complexion best. Try out different shades and make-up styles. Find out what works best for you and what emphasizes your bone structure or eyes best. Don’t forget to think about flowers, the color of your dress or any accessories you might be wearing, so the colors don’t clash. Talk with your stylist about what you want and what they think what work best for you.

Do get your eyebrows done

Eyebrows are an important part of your face and if everything else is done to perfection, but you’ve forgotten the eyebrows, it could look a bit odd. Get them shaped by a professional in advance and if you have very sparse eyebrow hair, then talk to your beautician about getting them colored to look fuller as well. When nicely taken care of, eyebrows can do wonders for the way your eyes and face as a whole look!

Don’t go DIY

Even if you’ve been doing your makeup yourself and have gotten really good at it, it is probably not the best idea to do it yourself on your wedding day. Consult different make-up artists, find one who can meet your wishes and let them do their magic on your face. They are professionals for a reason. And they have experience. They also have the best make-up and tools, so you don’t have to worry about that!
