ID-100268762Getting married can be tough financially, but even those with low income still deserve to get married!

Brazil has instituted a national “The Day of I Do” where low income families, those whose total income is less than $1000 US a year, can come to a mass ceremony performed by the Archdiocese of Rio de Janeiro and other evangelical pasters.

This past Sunday over 2,000 brides came to the Brazilian capital to say “I do”, making this the largest mass marriage ceremony in Brazil’s history. Couples and families participated in this mass service. Brides could be seen primping and pampering on commuter trains and in the streets preparing for their nuptials.

The weddings took place at the indoor Maracanazinho sports venue.
